COVID-19: A stress test for sustainable development in hospitality?
A Talk by Madhu Rajesh (Director, International Tourism Partnership (ITP) at Business in the Community)
About this Talk
The travel and tourism industry, like many others, has been hugely impacted by the downturn caused by the global pandemic. Despite this, hotels and restaurants across the world have come up with innovative ways for their facilities and staff to support their local communities during this crisis.
The industry will also have a vital role when the pandemic has passed. As businesses start to recover, hospitality will be able to offer much-needed opportunities for people left unemployed, while also protecting people rendered even more vulnerable by the pandemic from falling prey to forced labour. Sustainability will be a central part of the responsible recovery for the tourism sector.
Join Madhu Rajesh, Director of International Tourism Partnership, to explore how the hospitality industry has supported their local communities during these times and the vital role the industry can play in creating a more sustainable and inclusive future.
